How to Spoil Your Feet!

In our last article we learned how to wake up our feet and toes with some simple movements and corrective exercises. Here are some more ideas on how to reconnect to your feet, and spoil them a little too…

DIY Massage: massage your foot as if you were squeezing out a sponge or wash cloth, starting with the toes and working your way up the arches and to the ankles. Then spread your toes gently with your hands and finally try to work your fingers between your toes for a lovely ‘hand-foot hug’…

Grounding/Earthing: Walk barefoot as often as possible at home and/or outside in the garden to ground yourself and feel your connection to the earth below, awakening the sensibility all along the soles of your feet. Close your eyes and imagine breathing in the smell, texture and energy of the green grass and the grounding energy of the earth below through the soles of your feet. Let this earthy breath ride up your body, all the way up to your scalp. As you breath out, feel the outbreath ride back down your body and out the soles of your feet, taking with it anything heavy or tight, and sensing how the earth beneath you absorbs any of this ‘excess’…
piediVisualizations: if you don’t have access to a garden, or don’t feel like walking around barefoot on the grass, just slip off your shoes at home, lie down somewhere comfy , close your eyes and visualize walking along various terrains: a sandy beach, pebbles, green grass, a bed of feathers…
